Thai Food and Songkran Festival on April 19, 2015

You are cordially invited to join the 1st Thai Food and Water Festival to promote Thai culture and celebrate Thai New Year at Wat Wimuttayaram Buddhist Temple of Louisiana on Sunday, April 19, 2015, beginning at 9:00 and ending at 6:00 pm. This event is proudly presented by the Thai community in Louisiana. The celebration of Songkran or Water Festival will be launched in the morning with religious worship, chanting, presenting alms food to the monks, and blessing from 10:30 am to 11:00 am. In the afternoon there will be the ceremony of watering the sacred Buddha Image and the monks for blessing and happiness of lay people. Food booths will be opened to guests from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Songkran Festival

The activities includes merit-making and religious service, selling Thai food, drawing raffle prizes, cultural exhibi-tion, Thai dance, on-stage shows, and live music entertained by duo singers: Pornchai from AL and Sugar from Nevada.

In the event a wide variety of Authentic Thai food is introduced by the community members at the price you will afford. Buy food by cash at the booths and enjoy your favorite dish.

This is the first year that we organize the Thai food fair after planning about it for several years. Your participation will make this event successful and survived.

Raffle tickets are sold at $5 per ticket for fundraising to support the temple. Raffle prizes include washing machine, television, and tablet. Buy more tickets and have more chances to win!! You can buy tickets from our authorized agents. All funds will be finally delivered to the temple for religious purposes.
