About us

Wat Wimuttayaram Buddhist Temple is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit religious corporation incorporated in the State of Louisiana on November 12, 2009. Its unique purpose is to promote the doctrine of the Buddha, the founder of Buddhism as well as to unite the communities of different beliefs and races. Wat Wimuttayaram is the temple that practice the doctrine and disciplinary code collected and complied by the group of greater disciples of the Buddha who named Theravada Sect of Buddhism.

At the temple, the monks are normally invited from Thailand to lead in the practice and to commit religious services. The monks follow their daily religious routines such as chanting and meditating in the morning and in the evening. They also do daily activities such as taking phone calls, cleaning, grounds keeping, constructing etc.

The temple’s religious services include Buddhist studies, meditation, chanting, meditating, training, blessing, and counselling. These services are made flexible and adaptable to the requests of members. The temple opens the gate to the visitors daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Call us to make an appointment before you visit our temple because the monks are sometimes invited to perform offsite religious services upon convenience of its members.
